Come see us at booth #128, on the West Mall area between the U of A Student Union and Old Chemistry buildings. Our booth is a corner tent directly across the road from the Student Union, so you can't miss us. You'll have an opportunity to pick up copies of all of DCP's books, as well as meet DCP author Don A. Martinez (The Advance Guard, Dinetah Dragon, The Insurgent's Journal) as well as DCP cover designer (and U of A alumnus) Stacey Martinez, whose cover designs grace most of our books (An Unlikely Arrangement, Scent of Double Deception, Sin Secrets and Salvation, An Angel Box). We will also be doing some special events while we're there. We'll be taking pre-orders on the next DCP release, Jeannie Faulkner Barber's Taste of Fire. We'll be having a festival drawing for signed, personalized copies of DCP's books. Friends of the Festival, don't think we've forgotten about you: we have special deals for Friends of the Festival on all our books and our package deals! And as always at these events, we'd love for you to stop by and see us, even if it's just to chat. We love people. We don't bite. (Hard.) For more information on the Festival, including a map to show you the exact location we'll be, head over to www.tucsonfestivalofbooks.org. We'll see you in Arizona this weekend! That's right, folks! Praise for Scent of Double Deception by Jeannie Faulkner Barber and Ann Alan: "What a wonderful read! Started out with a interesting twist, but came together wonderfully. I love how you just could not put it down, I was always wondering what was going to happen next!!" --Brandi Clay Praise for An Unlikely Arrangement by Patty Wiseman: "This book has it all. Love, scandals, mystery and murder. A must read for anyone who likes any of those things." --Pam Praise for The Advance Guard by Don A. Martinez: "This was a very good story about modern-day superheroes who are collected by the CIA into a unit to fight the evils of the world. They do quite a good job at it, too.[...] I've been avoiding fantasy novels but I'm glad I chose this one. Looking forward to the sequel" --Cathy Praise for Dinétah Dragon by Don A. Martinez: "This book has a little bit of everything! Native American life, college, military operations, supernatural soldiers, terrorists, religion, demons, angels, magic, and a sweet love story or two. Phew! [...] I was very impressed.[...] I definitely recommend this one for anyone who is into the supernatural, especially mixed in with military themes." --Cassie - Gathering Leaves As we move into the future, with more books coming, and more praise forthcoming I'm sure, DCP is leading the charge to truly present "the best in literary entertainment!" Well, the weekend came and went, and DCP made its first appearance at a festival with the Texas Book Festival in Austin. (I would have made this post sooner, but I had further business in Austin and just came back last night!)
I'd like to offer my sincere thanks to everyone who stopped by our shared book with White Bird Publications. Also those who took some of our giveaways (flyers, business cards, bookmarks), and those who entered into our drawing. After the close of the Festival on Sunday we drew the winners: one winner each will receive a copy of one of our books (The Advance Guard, Dinétah Dragon, An Unlikely Arrangement, or Scent of Double Deception). Keep an eye out in your e-mail or your phone if you entered! If you aren't one of the lucky four winners, you still have a chance. Right now on Goodreads, you have five days left to enter a drawing for one of six signed copies of Scent of Double Deception! Enter now through the widgets all around the website. Also, keep a lookout for some special pricing deals forthcoming. DCP will be doing its own Black Friday sale: watch here for more details. SPECIAL SHOUT-OUT: While at the festival, we had the privilege of having a number of folks stop by inquiring about having us publish their books. We also had one person who was promoting their own e-book, who we all took a liking to. Author H. E. Hinze, very mature for a 17-year-old, was doing her first Book Fair as well, circulating through the crowd to pass out brochures. We took some, and I'm happy to report that when I came back I found Ms. Hinze is now a DCP Twitter follower! So check out her e-book No Angels, a YA paranormal fantasy novel, which is available on Kindle (and soon, from what she told us, in paperback as well), and also the No Angels blog. Thanks for stopping by and seeing us in Austin! That's right, folks. Today marks T-minus two days and counting until our book signing in Marshall, Texas ... and three days until DCP has its big premiere at the Texas Book Festival. Be sure to look for us at both of these appearances, pick up some books, and let us sign them for you!
First is the book signing! When: October 21st, noon until 2pm Where: Books and Java, 1300 E. Pinecrest Drive, Marshall, Texas. (In the Marshall Mall) Who's there: Don A. Martinez and Patty Wiseman will be there to sign copies of their respective books (The Advance Guard, DinétahDragon, and An Unlikely Arrangement). All three books are currently available at Books and Java for sale! Then there's the festival! Copies of all books will be available on all dates at this event. Come see us, come meet us, come get some great books! All this weekend! Lots o' stuff happening around DCP Central in October!
First off ... were you aware that we're running a Goodreads giveaway RIGHT NOW?! You'd better head on over! There's currently 406 entrants looking to win 6 copies of Scent of Double Deception, autographed by author Jeannie Faulkner Barber. Second off, a huge thanks goes out to all those Goodreads users who entered to win copies of An Unlikely Arrangement. Patty was overjoyed with the exposure that 1576 entrants gave her work! We'll be trying to top that high water mark for DCP in forthcoming giveaways, but for now here's to the winners, each of whom received an autographed copy of the book! Tammie Barker, Grand Prairie, TX Alicia Coakley, Portland, OR Pam Mandigo, Richmond, KY David A. Santos, Milwaukee, WI Brandon Erwin, Fort Stewart, GA Finally, get ready to see us in person! DCP is starting to get its public swerve on, with two appearances occuring in one three-day period. On October 21, come meet and greet DCP authors Don A. Martinez and Patty Wiseman at Books & Java in Marshall, Texas; while you're there you can pick up copies of The Advance Guard, Dinétah Dragon, and An Unlikely Arrangement, and the authors will sign them for you right there! Then on October 22 and 23, Jeannie Faulkner Barber joins Don and Patty in Austin for the annual Texas Book Festival. DCP will be sharing a booth with Evelyn Byrne's White Bird Publications, and all three authors (and four books) will be available. Come get your copy of any DCP work, and the author will be right there to sign it for you! What a deal! Big things happening with DCP this month! Come out and say hello! It's one thing to promote your books by having the author make the rounds of the interview circuit, meeting new folks and getting readers interested in their books. It's another thing entirely when an author's characters can do it for them!
That's exactly what's going on at Pat Bertram Introduces ..., the blog of author Pat Bertram. Pat currently has four books in print with Second Wind Publishing (Light Bringer, Daughter Am I, A Spark of Heavenly Fire, and More Deaths Than One), but she takes time out of her busy schedule to interview newcomer characters. In the last few weeks, she's done exactly that for two of DCP's star characters. On September 12th, Pat posted on her blog a wonderful interview with Ruth Squire, the lead character of Patty Wiseman's An Unlikely Arrangement. Ruth, as it happens, was smack dab in the middle of the opening of her book when Pat came around asking questions, and her answers reflect it. Then on October 1st, Pat posted her interview with Ariel Sharpe, a supporting character in The Advance Guard and the lead of Dinétah Dragon, both by Don A. Martinez. Ariel's was more of a sedate sit-down interview, but it was exciting all the same to have Pat talk to her. Of course, as always, the books starring Ruth and Ariel are available for purchase through multiple channels. Look for An Unlikely Arrangement in print and Kindle formats, and The Advance Guard and Dinétah Dragon in print, Kindle, and ePub. There's only thirteen hours left to get in on the biggest giveaway in DCP history.
That's right, you heard me. Patty Wiseman's An Unlikely Arrangement is up for a giveaway this month. You have only 13 hours left to enter at goodreads.com for a chance to win one of five autographed copies of the book. Don't miss your chance to get in on this! As of 12:30pm CDT, Patty's book has had 1423 goodreads.com users enter for a chance to win! That shatters by a great deal the previous record by a DCP book, Dinétah Dragon's 955 entrants. Keep an eye here for further updates, including the next big DCP giveaway for copies of Scent of Double Deception, autographed by author Jeannie Faulkner Barber. |
